Hypomanic Episode
Hypomanic EpisodeHypomanic symptoms are the same as described above for Manic Episode, but the symptoms are not severe enough to cause major social or functional impairment, and do not include the psychotic features of hallucinations or delusions that often accompany mania. The diagnosis of hypomania requires an experienced professional, because it can easily be confused with the relief a patient experiences upon emerging from a period of depression.
