Larry J. Wells, AS, Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LSAC), Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC).
As a result of his own and his family’s struggle with alcohol and drugs, Larry has dedicated his life to helping individuals and families who suffer from addictions. In 1971, he and Darrol Gardner, District Supervisor for the Utah Department of Adult Corrections, created Expedition Outreach, Inc., a non-profit wilderness-based substance abuse treatment program. As Director, Larry designed and conducted programs under contract with various agencies in the Western states. In 1988, he founded Wilderness ConQuest, which subsequently became Wilderness Quest in 1966.

Larry wrote the Personal Success Workbook for his adolescent and young adult clients, and, because he understood the contribution of faulty family communications in both the creation and maintenance of addictions, he wrote Bringing Love Home, a workbook for parents. He has also written numerous magazine and newspaper articles about addictions and improving communications.

Larry is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of addictions and recovery. Perhaps most importantly, he is a man of great courage and conviction, who has dedicated his life to helping individuals and families restore love and trust to their lives. Larry may be contacted through tandemjourney@charter.net
